The Key to mental wellbeing- “What is meant by comfort? Real comfort does not come to you because you have a nice house, beautiful clothing, or gourmet food. That is why when you spend too much—and then worry about how to pay your bills—there is no comfort. Real comfort is in the mind and it begins when you cultivate contentment.
What is contentment?
It is a mental and emotional state of satisfaction drawn from being at ease with whatever situation you are in. A state of mental wellbeing. Whether it is in the body, mind or your external environment. Contentment can also be regarded as a state of acceptance of one’s situation. this state also leads to happiness. A state of mental wellbeing.
What are the benefits of contentment or real comfort ?
Contentment allows you to enjoy and appreciate your life just the way it is. Experiencing a state of Mental wellbeing
Comfort allows us to enjoy our family and friends, and development of good relationships

Some ways to Cultivate contentment
Be aware of your existence. Become fully aware of this moment as the first and last precious moment.
Be mindful of your impermanence, and savour every moment. Appreciate this special gift of life. Sometimes we have to savour moments that are not to our liking. Accept that moment for what it is and move on. it too will pass.The only thing that is permanent is change.
Daily practice of gratitude, where you mindfully count all your blessings. Focus on what we have not what we don’t.It counters jealousy and envy by. being grateful for the abundance of our lives.
Seeing less is more. Happiness does not come from power, possessions, status , ownership. prestige, but comes from letting go of the illusions that these are the reason for your happiness.
Practicing abstinence, if a form sacrifice , where we are willing to give up something we enjoy. Especially we cease to act on destructive cravings. This is a process of recovery.
So when we cultivate contentment we take the suffering out of distress. Once again we experience mental wellbeing
Distress is inevitable , but suffering is optional
